Expectations of the “Little Heron”

• Your child must arrive by 6:45 p.m., with the competition beginning at 7:00 p.m..
• Each child will be asked to state their name, age, name of school, grade, favourite activity, and favourite colour. This information can be written on a piece of paper to help them present this information
• The contestants will also each answer a short impromptu question about an object picked from a bag. They will be asked to describe the item or discuss why they like it.
• Children will make one craft to enter in the fair with our group on the information night. Each child will also earn points for each exhibit item entered in this year’s fair.
• Children will also participate in a cake decorating competition.  The cakes will be  auctioned on the night of the competition.  The funds raised go towards next years Little Heron Program.
• The panel of judges (who will be from our Agricultural Society or community) will use a points system, awarding for clarity, impromptu question, and number of exhibits entered in this year’s fair.
• All competitors will be asked to wear their sashes during the fair and in the parade on Saturday. The Little Heron will be asked to participate in the Santa Claus parade in December.
